I've recently purchased two fully quarantined ich magnets (PBT and hippo). I have them in observation tanks and have not added them to my main display. I've had my system up for 11 years and have never had any kind of disease, but the first fish were not treated with copper. I do have a oversized UV as well. I am concerned that I may be introducing a ich bomb that could cause bigger problems down the road. Any advice?

How long has it been since you've added any fish to your display? What fish are currently in the display?

I added a new 150 gallon to my system in March. Rock is all old rock. I've added several fish in the last couple months. Was hoping to have a "tang gang". The tangs are all small (about 1.5"-2" each). I added a purple and sailfin to the display a few weeks ago. I have a yellow, pbt, tomini and hippo that haven't gone in yet.

You should be fine. At 11 years old your system should be very stable and even if you happen to have ich it shouldn’t become a problem unless you were to give it the proper conditions to thrive.

Achilles tang and powder blue tang are definite magnets
