Hello guys, I'm new here so please be gentle. I have a 120 gallon bare bottom not invert FOWLR tank. What is the best treatment for it? I have a QT but its only a 10 gallon. any idea or suggestions for any treatment? Thanks guys

We are always gentle :)

Are you saying you have an ich outbreak in your main FOWLR tank and it does not have any inverts in it?

Most folks' go-to treatment for ich would be 30 days of copper - but there's a catch.

Liverock can absorb copper, bringing the levels of copper in the water below what will kill the parasites. Once you've ended the treatment and removed the medication, the rock may also _leach_ copper into the water, making it a challenge to _ever_ keep any corals or inverts in that tank.

Daily testing to ensure that copper levels are within the therapeutic range (both range and test kits differ, depending on whether you choose ionic - ex.: Cupramine or chelated - ex.: Coppersafe forms of copper) is recommended, but if you're doing it in a display with liverock, you might consider testing both morning and evening.

Chloroquine?

CP would not hold up in a DT as biofilm and light can both degrade it, and since we don't have a test kit to ensure it's not being depleted....it's not recommended outside a QT.

I haven't heard about biofilm but as it's a Fowlr there is no real need to have the lights on for the normal photo period. Agreed they would ideally be in a qt but unless one large enough can be set up I'd say it was the best option?

If you want to run CP, then a QT is ideal. How many and what kind of fish do you have? I would think a 55 would be easy enough to come by for a QT for them. Either way, you can run CP or copper in there for that. If you must use the display then run copper and test it daily.
