I just picked up this fish today from lfs and I have caught it flashing in the sand a few times, which could be normal for just being added today, but I just noticed this tiny white dot behind its left eye on the gill plate. Could this be ich? I’ve never had a fish with it before and don’t know the first course of action. Input would be appreciated.

I cant tell from the picture but flashing is a sign of irritation and usually indicates parasites such as flukes or velvet.

I think it may be lymphocystis. Keep monitoring to see if more spots pop up and/or change on behavior.

Good news is spots are gone and so is the irritated spot, haven’t seen any signs of irritation. Glad I caught this early
