hi. I'm new to this hobby and last night I saw white dots on my eilbli angel. It almos looked like grains of salt. He was covered in them. So I figured that was ich. I got him out and now have him in QT however when I put him in QT I don't see any white spots. Could i have just saw air bubbles on him? Or can ich go away and re appear. I don't want to treat a fish for ich if he doesn't even have it. I am very stressed out. Please help!!

It could be velvet. Do you have any picture of him? Do you have copper in the water? Is he eating?

+2, it's good that you have a QT ready to go. You'll need to act quickly. The link above is great - follow that advice.

Also, feeding high-quality fresh or frozen foods soaked in vita-chem or selcon can help boost your fish's immune system to minimize losses throughout the process.

It's important to treat ALL exposed fish and let your display run fallow after.

It sounds like a lot, but it can be done and may not be as bad as you think. Good luck!

Thanks! I currently have him in QT treating with copper and he is eating which is good. He seems to be just staying in one spot tho. My other two fish coral beauty and clown don't show any signs of it except the coral beauty has a small white dot on her tail. I am currently setting up my 20g to QT them as well. The Eilbi looked terrible in my main tank. He was covered in white dots and then they suddenly dissappered. This hobby is very very stressful. My other tank I'm currently treating a multicolored for I have no idea what. I think it's flukes but she has just stop eating. She's been in QT for 3 days now and has been eating and today she has stopped. So now both tanks have been hit with disease. It's terrible bc I get really attached to my fish and it's a lot of stress. Thanks for everyone's input tho.

I prefer to think of it as challenging. Only the best of the best survive. ;) If I wanted relaxing and enjoyable, I'd go back to my FW tanks.
You know that isn't true. If you do a solid job of quarantining on the front end then it is relaxing and enjoyable once they get into the DT. And as long as these fish can live it isn't like you need to set up a QT very often. It's all about doing it right up front.
