Water parameters great. Only signs are darting and the mucous or ich on the fins. I dosed with prazipro but now I’m thinking it’s ich.

API test kitYou said water parameters great.
What test kits are you using and what is your:
Ammonia
nitrate
ph
salinity
Water
API kit is less than reliable and notorious for false readings often showing zero when its higher. I highly suggest taking aAPI test kit
0 ppm for everything
Less than 10 nitrates
8.2 ph
Salinity 1.025
I’m Confident in my fish I just quarantined them I have a more pressing issue.
Hi guys last question I promise after I started my saltwater tank my dad made his 55 gallon into saltwater.
his water is perfect ideal. But his fish ALL die within 2 days to a week. Skin peeling on most of the fish. Like completely. He had a wax candle close to the fish tank about 3 weeks ago could that be it? We’re at a complete loss.
His water is ideal just like mine.
Thank you for the response. The tank cycled for 4 weeks I made sure it cycled. I added ammonia and then natures ocean bio spira for bacteria. We check the water every day. He’s lost 800 in two weeks. Basically the fish either develop Popeye or skin peeling within 1-2 days usually. All the fish have been moved to quarantine. Next steps maybe removing all the water and start fresh.API kit is less than reliable and notorious for false readings often showing zero when its higher. I highly suggest taking a
a water sample to a store that does NOT use Api kits and have them test your ammonia and nitrates and compare readings- then you'll know where your levels truly are at
I will never trust a $7 badge or $25 master kit to sustain hundreds of dollars in livestock.
As for your dads tank, sound like bacterial issue and were the fish acclimated to the tank and if so how and for how long?
How old is tank and how was it cycled?
Candle, aerosols and cleraning products CAN have effect on water chemistry and candle can actually drop the tank's PH
