Ich or something else

Is there any way the you can start treating the DT with metroplex and vitamin M mixed with your frozen then use seachem focus to bind the meds to the food? This would introduce a antibiotic & vitamin to help with the inhabitants immune systems.

I'm actually leaning toward Ich with the amount of time with spots making me feel like velvet. The issue is I don't know how small that clown is for scale, but typically spots like that are Ich.

Ich can be very severe so it shouldn't be taken likely either

The timeline sounds like velvet, as there is at least one strain which will only remain on a fish for 12 hours before dropping off (as @icecool2 mentioned).

The X factor here is you have those white particles floating/swimming in the water column, and I could definitely see those getting stuck to the fish's mucous coat. Are the white particles free floating or do they appear to be swimming? They sorta look like pods, but I'm not entirely sure.

Pic for size reference, also just taken. As you can see, spots are gone. Tang is also clear

Whatever these white specs are, it's actually landing on my dragons breath...well its landing everywhere, bur is noticable on it.

The day before all this started, I added a mirror to the back of my tank to preoccupy my tang, cause he's an ***** who spends his days terrorizing the other fish. The mirror is at the bottom, right along the sand line. I'm going to move it up to the top and see if he's just kicking something up.

Yeah, I actually have some from a sick Oscar I had. Metro, kano, and I've even got some metronidazole. I'll have to pick up vitamin m....I'm guessing just like what we would take? Or is it something special to fish? I'll pick up some focus, hopefully the lfs has some.

Here is my products that I use. Metroplex is not in the picture

Do you do this as a regular thing, or only when sick? I had a couple local long term reefers come over today, and they're saying ich. I'm trying reefgrow first aid which many people have had good luck with treating in a dt. I'm just wondering if you think I should still do the antibiotics with the food also? Can it really hurt anything?

I personally wouldn't go for the quick fix route. If you really want to be rid of it you should go fallow in your DT and treat the fish.

I still do plan on removing them, and letting the tank sit. I'd also really like my qt tank to have a chance to get a week of the cycle out of the way so I'm not battling that on top of everything else. The fish look, and are acting healthy right now, I hate to change that by throwing them into an ammonia pit. The reefgrow helps the fish fight the ich,and like I said, has had great results. I'm not trying to take a short cut, but I fear throwing healthy fish into a cycling tank will do moor harm than good right now.

Your QT doesn't need to cycle. There shouldn't be anything in the tank except for saltwater, a heater and a powerhead. The fish will be your only source of ammonia and you'll need to monitor it with an ammonia badge or regular testing and do a water change if/when it gets high.

The white specs look like they're moving on there own which makes me think it's some larvae of a shrimp or crab. Or possibly hydroids. As for the ich/velvet it's probably unrelated.

I feed this all the time minus the antibiotics
