Hi everyone, I noticed a white grayish raised bump on the pelvic fin of my clown. I have a Cherub Angel but have not noticed anything on it yet. I noticed the nodule on the clown about 3-4 days ago. The clown appears to be healthy and acting normal. What do you guys think? I have seen ich in a friend's tank but it didn't quite look like this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Looks to me like lympho. It's harmless, a virus like herpes (cold sore variety).

Keep water quality high and soak foods in selcon to help.

A closer photo of the area would also be helpful.

Looks more like lymphocystis to me . . . but continue to watch it.

Lymphocystis is a virus, so there is no cure - but it's a virus roughly comparable to cold sores, so good water & good food should eventually allow the clown to beat it on his own.

The best way to tell if it's lympho is if it stays in one spot longer than 5 days. If it gets larger or just stays the same without falling off for that 5 days then it's definitely lympho.

it has definitely been there for the last 3-4 days in the same spot and I think It has gotten a little larger. I will keep an eye on it and let you guys know. Thanks again!
