Ich or velvet? On this powder blue?

Had this guy for a few days. I did not QT as I already know ich has been in the tank. Purple tang has had it on and off. No way to catch all fish without tearing tank down. What do you think this is? I know powders have thinner slime coat so maybe it has affected him mlr

Definitely looks like ich. Quarantine really is the safest thing you can do, as there aren’t any super effective reef safe treatments.

Yeah I know it is. I'm about to upgrade tanks in a few months because we are moving and im going to QT everyone. Thanks.

You can buy yourself some time by dipping that fish immediately, and starting your treatment program. Paraguard or even a freshwater dip for 3-4 minutes....buffer the ph will help for your dip....go 5 minutes if the fish will let you. Nice fat fish hopefully can recover. Good luck friend!
