Hi,

I need a few opinions on this. I have a group of 10 fish, Chromis, clowns, gobies ect doesn’t really matter. I have had these fish together for a couple of months now, none of them were QT. They just got moved to a 180.

I am now in the process of qt a sailfin tang and blue tang. I remember the old myth that ich is in all tanks waiting to strike! Is there any truth to this? Can adding fish more susceptible to ich possibly bring forward an outbreak of ich that I am not aware of?

I think it’s worth noting that this group of fish was part of a tank transfer that took place over a 4 hour car drive in a small tote so they have been stressed to the max with no apparent ich.

Any experience or thoughts?

For the fish that weren’t QTed you probably have a 50/50 shot either they have it or not. Remember they can host the parasite without actual signs. I would QT all fish from here forward and hope that the fish that weren’t not QTed and transferred werent host of the parasite.
