I was wondering what would be the best ich treatment plan for my dt. I have a SFE, urchins and a starfish in there currently.

The eel doesn't have any signs of ich and I don't want to stress them all out or having to go buy another qt tank (currently have a fish in my qt)

Any helpful advice is appreciated!

I have a 125 reef with a lot of corals, and 14 fish. I added a new kole tang, and got the ich!!! Man I tried a couple different ich treatments, nothing worked. So I found someone that used garlic juice and ginger, It was amazing! I only lost the Kole tang, all my fish were bad! I soaked there frozen food in garlic and ginger, and I would dip the seaweed in it. And increased their feedings to twice a day. I added 2 more cleaner shrimp also, for a total of 3. Ich was gone in two weeks, so a big difference in a few days.

So there is nothing you can do to in display that will CURE Ich. How ever with good nutrition you can practice Ich management. Which is keeping your fish so healthy they won't show signs. How ever any time a fish gets sick or stressed you have a chance for an outbreak. @Humblefish has the details.

I've heard about garlic before but I didn't know it actually worked that well! I'm gonna have to try that. Mine was caused by kole tang getting stressed and dying off as well.
Good info! It's a pain, I just don't want any more casualties in my tank. I was recommended to use kordon ich attack. They said it was reef safe so picked up a bottle. Haven't used any yet though

That products lists, "100% Organic Herbals based on Naphthoquinones" as the only ingredient. So, it isn't going to eradicate any diseases. It might boost your fishes' immune system enough to help manage the presence of certain diseases. Or make it more difficult for trophonts to attach if Naphthoquinones coat the skin. But ich will always be in your system; albeit in reduced numbers.

Where did you get the garlic and ginger juice?

I have been soaking food in aqua forest garlic a few times a week but it doesn't seem to be helping. I will start doing it more often to see if it will help.

Garlic doesn't work that well, time is what "worked". Garlic wasn't the catalyst. It only stimulates appetite
