Hey everyone, I need your help. I have a dog face puffer with ich. I treated him for 6 weeks with hypo salinity at 1.006 and malachite green while trying to find chloroquine with no luck at all. My Vet can’t even get it right now. I came across a thread where Humblefish said copper power could be used on puffers. I got the copper power, still nervous about doing copper to a puffer, I raised him up to 2.2 over an 8 day period. He’s been at that level for 10 days and no scratching and he seems to feel much better. I’m question is what are these bumps on his back and head? They don’t drop off like Ich, they stay there all the time. Is it still Ich, a secondary infection or scaring? Thanks for the help.

Looks like a fungus to me- maybe a combination of the stress, ich wounds and unclean water? perhaps do a fungicide?

Thank you. One more question. Can I dose an anti fungus medication with the copper or should wait until the copper treatment is finished and then treat for fungus?

Could this be lympho? @Jay Hemdal should be able to help, good luck!
Looks like it could be. He doesn’t have it on his fins, only back and head and little on his mouth. I’ll up the qt water changes to everyday to make sure the water is super clean. Than you.

Yeah I second lympho- what I would do is finish the copper treatment while feeding him very nutrients-packed foods. This will help the puffers immunity and the healing process, and if the lympho doesn’t go away after the copper is done, or isn’t healing, you may want to treat for fungus.

Thank you so much. That will be my plan. That’s what I get for rescuing a fish from Petco. I just knew if I left him there, he would surely die.‍♂️
