I bought 2 clowns and 1 Royal Gramma on 8/8. All 3 looked happy and showed no signs of sickness. I put them in my QT and observed for 3 days and all was good. I then ran Prazi for 5 days and all was good. I started dosing Cupramine 2 days ago and this evening I see now they are all 3 showing signs of ich. They ate great tonight and are swimming and moving fine.

My question is- is normal for Ich to not show up for 10 days and then all the sudden hit once you start with Copper?

Unusual, but not unheard of. Copper takes some time to work, and the ich was probably cooking before you saw it.

I generally run copper first and then prazi: Ich parasites kill faster than flukes do.

Is it possible this is Lymphocystis instead of Ich. It would make more sense to me. The Clowns just have a few white specks mostly on fins. The Royal Gramma has 3 white dots on his Fore head. The more I read about Lymphocystis I think it’s that. I’m gonna keep running the Copper since they are in QT and I haven’t ran Copper yet.

The dosing of copper is just circumstantial. The ich would have presented itself with or without copper. This is no issue at all and you are ahead of the game :) keep the copper at theraputic (0.5ppm for cupramine) and when the parasite falls off the fish in a few days they will not be able to reinfect. Are you planning on tank transfer at 14 days?

Do you TTM after 14 days or transferring them to my DT?

I hadn’t planned on TTM after 14 days just planned to run carbon and observe for another week and then if all looked good put them in the DT. Maybe run another round of prazi after the copper. That ok?

Unlikely to be Lymphocystis on the clowns, but it is very common on grammas. Simple test to tell you for sure: map out the spots on one side of the fish by drawing them on a paper. Observe the fish each day, if the spots change location, it isn’t Lymphocystis . If they do, it’s ich or another parasite. Of course, if the fish are seriously ill, you don’t want to just observe them for 3 days

What if the spots are gone today? Thinking Ich and they’ve fell off? They were only there for a day. Weird...

Ich falls of every 3 to 4 days to continue through its stages of life cycle so you won't see same spots. It might change every 3 to 4 days. I would definitely continue with copper treatment and bring copper to therapeutic levels and hold for 14-22 days minimum
