Hi, what is the average time a ich spot can be in a fish before falling off? I have my blue tang in a hospital tank after doing a TTM method. It’s been in there for 4 weeks. And has a small speck or 2 of white dot on its body but one of the spots have been on there for more than 2 weeks.
I’ve been told there’s a high likelyhood it’s not ich but if anyone knows how long spots usually stay on for would make me feel a lot less paranoid

Pictures under white lightsa would really help us assess if it is ich and what to do. As for ich, flukes, etc. . . it depends on:
treatment
water quality
health of fish
age of condition

Only issue is you can’t see these spots with a camera it’s so faint il show a video of the fish but you can’t see anything. However fish flashes everyday.
Treatment I’ve done is flukasolve and TTM
Water quality nitrates 10 ammonia nitrites 0 salinity 1.025 temp 25 degrees
Fish eats well breathes normally has had ich multiple times in the last 6 months.
age of condition maybe 6 months. I have TTM’d the fish twice first time doubt I did it right as reused equipment. Placed in DT after fallow period and got ich again 1 week later. 2nd TTM was now done properly. And again 1 week later noticed fish flashing in the hospital tank however no spots seen( unsure of what I see are even spots but they’ve been there for a few weeks,

Blue tangs are ich magnets. Mine looked great at the lfs. Brought her home. Put her in qt. Next day was flashing two days later ich spots go figure. She’s been in 2.0ppm coppersafe since Monday and doing well Don’t give up

Going to look insane these are the pics I just took but I promise you when you look with the naked eye you can see a few spots 2/3 but they’re so small and 2 of them have definetly been there for 2 weeks+ the rest not even sure if there spots or just bubbles.

Could the flashing just be the normal territorial posture in the QT.

I am a bit confused on the catching ick twice in QT, if any system has ick, it really takes 70 days to be safe.

Have you actually had ick and what treatment did you use on the tank to break the cycle.

In the last post, really does not describe ick to me, yet.

I really want to help this fish it’s been through so much I honestly thought I’d lose it along time ago however it’s a fighter. This is however the longest it’s ever been without quite prominent visible white spots since I’ve had the fish. But the flashing really bugs me.

I’m am 80% sure what I had was ich.
1st time around I took the fish out and left DT empty for 85 days. The fish in QT went through copper (my hanna checker seemed faulty) so I gave up after 2 weeks as there still had ich. Decided to do TTM on them while the QT tank dried for 2 weeks. After the TTM fish looked amazing no spots beautiful happy. Placed in the QT for few days and noticed blue tang had spots again. (Assuming TTM didn’t work as I was using same equipment ) Tried copper again for 21 days only test kit was salifert. Blue tang I TTM’d again alone as the copper started causing HLLE. Again blue tang looked great in observation after the TTM. Added 3 mollies to my hospital tank and my DT no ich spots on them for 1 week. So added all my fish back (fallow period was over). 1 week later blue tang had ich again. Don’t know how but assuming the copper didn’t work.

now again I’ve removed all the fish TTM them all (properly) they’ve been in the hospital tank for 4-6 weeks now. Only symptom is flashing and MAYBE spots on the blue tang everyone else is completely fine.

Have been advised blue tang flashing may just be chance - made a habit of it. Just find it odd that it’s flashing everyday and I THINK I can see spots.

I’m going to upload pictures of the blue tang since I’ve had it and during its treatments just so yall can see the fighter it is. First and second pic was was first attempt of copper on the fish.
3rd pic is after doing TTM first time and waiting a week. 4th pic is when TTM done again and added to DT after fallow period (can barely see it but has ich again )

Not sure your guys program. But since this new qt setup has started and with copper. I feed 3 times daily. I want to give them every advantage

I feed twice at the moment pellets and flake and then a few strips of nori. Everyone eats fine if anything I’m probably under feeding as they always act like they’re starving

Appears to be lymphocystis and associated with diet and water conditions.
What is your ammonia-nitrate-ph-salinity level ?

For diet, feed at least the following especially if you have other tangs:
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
spirulina brine shrimp
LRS Herbivore diet
mysis shrimp
small plankton
Formula 2 flake and frozen

add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-4X weekly and on alternating days garlic extract for immune system health

Ammonia 0 nitrate 10 pH 8.2 salinity 1.025 salinity does fluctuate I try check it everyday and refill with RO water.

from what I’ve seen there’s no cute to lympho right?

you mean cure- No but diet and good water quality will change things for fish

I’m sure I was dealing with a lot more than one disease maybe a combination of ich lympho.

My last question - my tank currently has been fallow for 59 days.
However I have added coral throughout (impatience). How likely is it that something came in on the coral. Is it worth doing the 12weeks again? And would it be silly as I wasn’t planning on QT all inverts and coral bought after the fallow period finishes?
