Over a week ago I tore down my 75 gallon DT because of Ich. I moved my 10 fish to 2 separate QTs. A 29 gallon for my Kole Tang, Bellus Angel, 2 fairy Wrasse and a lawnmower blenny. Into a 20 gallon QT went 2 clownfish, 2 PJ cardinals and a shrimp goby. Most of the fish were showing a few white spots. One clown was very bad and died after 2 days in QT.
I slowly ramped up the Copper Power over 3 days and was at 1.5 by the third day and at 1.75 by the next day. Except for the clown that died all seemed good. Every one eating, but over the past few days the Kole Tang's appetite has steadily decreased and he's pretty pale. I understand that Copper is an appetite suppressant and stressful.
Needless to say I'm worried about the Tang. I've tried garlic on his nori and mixed into their Rod's food.
My question is this: after 7 days at therapeutic levels and no spots visible what are my options for the Tang? My idea was to nurse him along for a full 14 days of copper. Then transfer the fish from the 20 gallon tank into the 29 gallon tank continuing their copper treatment for them but move the Tang to the 20 without copper for observation. And after being out of copper hope his appetite improves.
Thoughts? Other ideas?
If the Tang out of copper treatment does show other issues I could treat him separately if needed. I could also wait 2-3 weeks and if still concerned about ich hit him with CP, which I have access to being I'm a veterinarian. In hindsight I would have been better off treating all but the wrasses with CP and do them with copper.
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried to put nori on a clip or rubberband some to a small rock? Tangs are generally not copper sensitive.

The other thing you can try is live foods. Live blackworms and brine especially are their favorite.

If it were me I'd try to get him through 10 days of therapuetic copper and then transfer him to the clean tank.

Yep, tried nori in my nori feeder and on a rock. I'll look into getting some live food. Even tried some broccoli. He is acting more like he's just stressed.
Thanks!

Just wanted to update you about my Tang. He died today. He had started nibbling on the Nori, never showed interest in live Brine shrimp or other foods. I'm pretty sure the stress of the whole thing led to HLLE, possibly with secondary bacterial infection.
I was going through R2R fish disease index and he fit that picture pretty perfect. Also mentioned that Tangs are very prone to it when under stress.

Hard way to learn a lesson. But all the others, wrasses, blenny, Bellus angel, clown, PJ's and shrimp goby seem to be handling their QT. Hit 15th day of therapeutic copper. Halfway done.

HotRocks, Thanks for your help!
