Order coppersafe on Amazon and when you need to use it change all of the water.purchased 1 hippo tang 1 yellow tang and 3 chromies. All are in quarantine and eating. LFS did not sell copper and vet has not agreed to prescribe chloroquine phosphate. No fish have visible signs of Ich or velvet and I was talked into purchasing rally and kick Ich as a supplement for my quarantine tank. After reading about it online I wish I had never purchased it. I did dose as directed as a precaution.
The hippo tang is a little pale and keeps hiding, but I assume that's from shipping stress. I knew better than to do this but the kids were super excited and we had driven an hour each way to get fish. I can't believe they didn't sell copper and worse that I let them talk me into a product I hadn't researched.
My question is if I do end up having one or both of these diseases could I start using copper now or will the existing product in quarantine affect the copper treatment. Same question for the chloroquine phosphate.
I would wait until either the coppersafe is removed or at least a week or two after your fish are used to the copper and eating. Also my prazipro came in. Can I treat at the Sam time I'm running copper?
I've been slowly adding the copper safe to qt. adding 10 ml per day. I'm over the dose of what the directions say by the test is coming out to .5-1ppm. I'll keep dosing till the test results are in line. The spots in my hippo tang are gone. I'm assuming I should keep dosing at 10-15 ml per day until I hit 1.75 ppm?
I have a very small rock and a maybe 20 pieces of ruble the size of a marble for bio filtration. Can I just continue to add the copper until it's at the correct level.
