So I have been treating my tank with ich attack for a week and a half. It seems as the blue hippo is losing white spots by the day. All fish are eating and active swimmers. But suddenly between the hours of 3-5 today two Picasso clownfish died. They had no spots that I had seen and were healthy and eating. Could this be a fluke with them? They were small and always picked on by my much larger perculas. What do you think?

What size tank are they in? I only ask because from personal experience the clowns can get territorial and once a pair is established they will normally pick off the rest of the clownfish. Probably had nothing to do with the ich if there were no symptoms visible

Fairly small its a 36 gal. But only holding a hippo for my 75 gal. Anyways I think you are right because ich is almost gone and everyone is acting healthy .

Mine was in a 100 gallon and they still picked off the other pair while I was at work so in a 36 it's bound to be worse. As far as the kick ich I've never personally used it but have read mixed reviews on it. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in but only things I know that work %100 are hypo salinity and copper. I use copper power myself. Less toxic than cupramine and have treated sensitive fish such as potters wrasses with it with no problems

Yea I am in the process of setting up a qt tank. Just waiting on a thing or two. But this ich attack has worked or at least to my eyes has. I also have read it works 100% and some claim have used it multiple times in a 3 year span. Yet others that no way. I think it all has to do with catching it early and how bad. I started treating the second day and double dose too. So who knows lol

Only time will tell it may work for you but like I said I've personally never used it. Good luck I know the frustration of ich

Thanks I need it! And FYI I will be treating all fish with copper in a 2-3 week qt when they go in the 75 no more ich for me haha. Then all knew fish will get parasite and ich treatment as well.

I will never get hippos for another 10 years cuz of this reason exactly. I had one and once I added him all but my 2 clowns died. It was horrible. Almost quit the hobby. Tangs are ick magnets like everyone says. I stay away from hippos. They will bring down your whole tank. But if you really know what your doing by all means go ahead.
