Hey Guys so I have had my fish in a QT for exactly 25 days today. I have been doing water changes every other day and treating with ICH X. These past 3 weeks the fish have been fine I even took them out to observe them in a separate container with a magnifying glass just to maker sure they were free of ich and they were I was giving them 1 more week of QT before adding them to my Display and behold just as I was thinking about adding them...last night i checked on them as I beleive at night is truly the best time to check and see if your fish have ich and to my surprise I notice quite a few white spots on 2 of my fish a damsel and a few on my foxface and when i mean a few i can count every spot...ive been treating with ich x... for almost the entire time theyve been in QT i just dont understand how this ich is possibly still in the QT tank and I only use equipment specifically for this tank only! Anyway I know what to do and all I just felt really annoyed about this ich and just kinda wanted to talk crap about it! lol I hope ich dies forever!
Side note...PEA PUFFERS ARE IMMUNE TO ICH!!!

Copper is best. One of the fish with the spots, was that one that was taken out to be inspected? That could of caused elevated stress levels?
also the tank needs to be fallow for 8 weeks in order for the ich to die off in your display tank!
stay positive!

No I inspected all the fish when they looked fine no spots nothing, and the display is brand new its never had fish in it.

Nothing is immune to ICH and everything can carry it.

ICH X WILL NOT WORK

There are many threads on this. Copper/TTM/OR Ich Management. Pick one, don't waste your time on the rest.
Just cause they don't look like they have it, does not mean they don't.

Are you sure it is ich? Not anything else like flukes? Do you have pictures of these lesions?

Ich X doesn’t eliminate ich.

Pea Puffers are not immune to ich.

I can take some pics after work but most likely its ich...I feel like if it was flukes I would have lost most of my fish if not all already and as of right now its only 2 fish that have the visible parasite on them

If they arent immune to it they are sure not bothered by it at all well at least in my case...my pea puffer has shown no signs of stress or no signs of ich at all...must really have a great immune system.

Sure lots of fish are resistant but that just means they are carriers to infect other fish. It only takes one inside a gill to pass on to others.

I dosed this morning before I left to work now I come back and it has nothing anymore this is what usually happens which I know the ich is probably dropped on the tank now

That’s because fish always have I h, it’s only when they are stressed that their immune system become comprised and allows for ich to Warcraft the fish.

regardless of the r2r mob/myths fish will and always have ich.

They all seem pretty clean after I came back from work but I will check again later on tonight once all the light are off...I know this doesn’t mean ich is gone it’s most likely still present in the tank but it’s not present in the fish as of now or at least from what I can see with my eyes...(the white spots on the damsel are just bubbles in the pic)

I’m not sure what side I’m on in this theory because I have both cases my 12 gallon nano I’ve never QT any fish any coral and I’ve never had ich...as opposed now to buying these new fish and QT before hand they get ich...but personally I believe ich is in the water column and not the fish

You do realize ich has a lifecycle and the spots on fish are only one part of that cycle...

Yes I know the cycle but I’ve been treating with meds so it pretty much means the meds are not good enough to get rid of the ich

That does not make any bit of sense. Cryptocaryon irritans is a very well-studied parasite, not a matter of cloudy theories.

Yes because the other person was saying that ich lives in fish only which is the theory I was referring to...I know ich has been studied this is why we have all these methods and medications for it...it’s beatable and present...even my LFS said once the fish have no ich go ahead and put em back in the display tank I didn’t bother arguing back to that just ignored it

Yeah, if you want to get rid of ich use copper instead.
Side note. The fish you posted should be handle ich fine provided you give them a good enough environment to thrive.
