Pretty sure my Royal Gramma as ich. It is scrapping its head against rock every so often and what looks like white spots on head. Was wondering what everyone used to treat this. Also im pretty sure there is no way I can get him out without destroying tank. So a whole tank treatment i believe is gonna be my only option. I found this treatment on Foster and Smith. Aquarium External Parasite, Ich Control: FishVet NO-ICH at Foster & Smith Aquatics has anybody used it. Also what medications should i have on had. Im new to the salt water world. Thanks

First off do you have corals in tank? If so you are really limited on what you can treat with. Copper is the best treatment for Iick, however it is not to be used in a reef system. You will have to remove the fish and quarantine it. Then add copper but you must also test the level of the copper. Also you will need to find what caused the outbreak is it being picked on,was there any new additions that could have brought it in. Test your water as well. You also can try mixing garlic in food to help immune system.

Garlic doesn't help your fish at all. Google garlic-fish liver damage if you want to read the research. Don't put chemicals into your tank to try to treat a fish for ich. Even copper is hit or miss and will cause other long term damage to your system. If you must use copper, then use a separate treatment tank. If you won't catch him and treat in a separate tank, rather than risking the long term health of your system, you might consider just letting it run its course .

Its that i wont catch him. Its the fact i dont see it possible to catch him. So may hiding places, and he's quick. Also no new specimans. Just new food. And thats when I noticed the spots and scratching

I have a similar situation right now, just noticed my yellow tang and bi color blenny have white spots. I understand what ya mean about not being able to catch em. My fish seem okay tho, still eating like pigs, out and about grazing the rocks. I just did a tank transfer a few days ago so its possible I stressed my guys out. :/ I may just let it run its course. The tank is BRAND NEW so I'm definitely not treating copper

I worked at a lfs and used no-ich to treat the display tank didn't hurt any inverts or corals and cured the fish ..... It just took twice as long as it said it would
