i put my first fish in my new DT without quarantine him. How do I know I'm about n the clear as far as ich goes

What kind of fish is it? The odds it is not at least a carrier for ich/velvet after coming through the distribution system these days is immensely low, unfortunately.

Its my understanding that pretty much all fish carry the ich. Poor water quality and stress cause it to flare up.

Clownfish have thick slime coats which make it easy to mask (hide it in their gills) ich. Can you catch him and put him in QT? Leave your DT empty of anything "wet" for 76 days.
