My good friend called me last night to come over and have a look at his scopas. Apparently he hadn't been eating for a few days and was looking pretty lethargic last night. So I went over and had a quick glance at him, but he was a little in the shade and I didn't see anything. So before I even could really think about what it could be, he came out and I noticed what I thought was ich. He does QT, at least he tells me that.
After a short discussion, we decided I would take the Scopas to my QT since I leave it set up and running after I clean it out each time. I mostly just QT prophylactically with CP. He looked quite bad, and I was pretty sure there was nothing to be done at this point. I really didn't even wanna stress him out too much more by moving him, but I figured it was a long shot either way. The scopas didn't make it through the night.
My biggest issue is that I am only about 3 years in the hobby and I've done my research so I always QT'd. I "think" I know what ICH looks like from pics, but I've never seen it up close and personal. So I took a few pics of the scopas post-mortem. I handled the little guy a bit and I'm quite positive the whiteish spots were much more numerous last night when he entered QT. If it turns out to be ich, I'll end up giving the guy some CP and tell him to go fallow. Also I'm not really sure what else I could have done to help the poor little fish???
