Ich?

So serious question then...if part of controlling disease is reducing stress on my fish...wouldn't it make more sense in my case to just treat my display tank with Paraguard? All of the fish are still actively eating...I feel like moving them from current tank to QT is going to stress them out even more. I don't mind if some snails or crabs die...I could also move my corals out for the time being as they are just frags if those would get affected as well. I just want to do what's right knowing that what I've already done is wrong, aka lesson learned for the future.

Not at all. First off, Paraguard isn't a viable way to cure Ich despite what the manufacturer claims. Copper or CP are your best bets. The "stress" factor is way over emphasized. Having Ich is more stressful.

What ended up happening? How did it turn out?

7 of my 12 fish passed away :( Last week I moved the 5 remaining fish back into the DT after it had been fallow for 76 days and the fish had been treated w/ Cupramine in the QT. It could've been better, it could've been worse, but I learned a lesson and hopefully that lesson will allow for me to not lose anymore fish moving forward.

Glad some survived. Did you end up moving your QT tank farther away? I read that it can’t be close and the ich can float into your other tank. You think it came from the powerder blue tang?

I did move the QT further away and have it set up and still going. Currently have 4 new fish in it; Bluejaw Trigger, Flame Angel, and a pair of extreme flurry clowns. In 6 weeks I’ll add them to the display tank along with a beautiful Melanarus wrasse I’ve had in my Biocube for about a year now! He’s getting to big for that tank and needs some more space! I think the powder brown tang kicked off the ich outbreak, I’m just happy that I was able to save 5 of the fish; blue hippo, female lyretail angel, yellow tang, desjardini Sailfin tang and one of my Frostbite clowns.
