Hi All,

New to R2R, new to the hobby. This is my first tank that I am just getting going. The first two fish (clowns) were added three weeks ago. Today I noticed 4 white spots on one of them. Nothing so far on the other. Only other tank inhabitants are 10 nerite snails. Just looking for confirmation on what I am dealing with. Thanks.

If I had to pick I would say cottony. I hadn't come across Lymph before in any of my reading but looking at other references now it does look similar to what I am seeing. Only difference is I do not see anything on the fins currently. Is there a way to definitively determine which it is?

For now I guess I will monitor for any changes. In the meantime I am getting a small QT going in case I do need to treat. Open to any other suggestions.

Lympho usually presents on the fins first, but not always. It can show up anywhere on the body of a fish. It's a virus. Similar to the human herpes virus. It never goes away completely. Pristine water conditions and a wide variety of foods + vitamins will help the fish's immune system to keep it in check. The good news it is harmless, unless the growths inhibit eating, breathing, etc.
