Would I need to treat the fish with copper or just waitI'd go for 30, especially if you are going to go through a prolonged fallow period and your fish need to be in a QT for close to 3 months.

ThanksIt is amazing how often this topic is posted. I myself have a thread going. There is also a nice article on ich eradication v. ich management on this forum. Look up humblefish. Do what he says. He knows what he is doing. good luck.

I have also been told that the tank transfer method would be good
ExactlyYes, I've read a lot about that method but never tried it. But then you need 2 QTs, as I don't think you want to catch fish in DT every 1-2 weeks.
This thread has just the momentum we like to see for disease control input. I have this thread linked to our skip cycle/ cycling microbiology thread as it shows good preps for fish disease.
nowadays the wait 30 days approach has taken a back seat to bottle bac cycling, and quicker use of fish. the thread here shows the preps needed before fish, even though its not hard to control ammonia nowadays/bottle bac works well.
Thanks
