I have a tank that has/ had a couple fish that had ich. I want to remove some of the Macro algea that is growing like a weed & i want to put it in another tank. Can I put it in a fresh water tank for a period of time & kill off the ich? Or what can be done that I can use it in another tank?
Thanks

I think if you put it in an ich free tank with no fish that the plant will be Ich free in 72 days (or less)? I don’t remember the “fallow period” for ich.
Also, if you treat with copper for a few weeks I think you could also cure Ich with out damaging the plant? I have never done either thing, just read what folks on here do.
Let’s see what else folk say?

Im also thinking that temperature elevation could also work for removing Ich with out killing the plant?

To test putting in copper I put some in my fish only tank BUT my Tangs & Foxface ate it all....
