Ick & Copper questions

Right, I have ick in my tank, my powder blue had ick (not bad) but it's still ick, I have a 55 gallon set up ready for a hospital tank, it's been running for 3 or 4 weeks, I've bought copper today and copper test kit. I will be moving all of my fish into the 55 gallon. I used bio spria on the 55 am I allowed to use the copper with bio spria? I know I'm not allowed to use any ammonia detoxifier with it, but not too sure with bio spria.

Seachem says it's safe to use cupramine with stability which is the same as the bio spira. So I would think it would be ok to use. But honestly I would have just set up the qt with water from the display and just do water changes to keep everything in check when using copper.

+1 You can use Bio-spira, but most of the nitrifying bacteria will die as soon as they hit the copper water. Best strategy is to add Bio-spira before you dose copper, or seed your bio-filter in a bucket or something. Once the bacteria become embedded, they're not so easy to kill.

I have a HOB filter and I had sponge in my sump so I just moved it to the HOB, It's gonna be a pain removing all the rock and catching them all. Hopefully everything goes well. Any tips on how to reduce stress?

If you have a large enough drum or plastic garbage can, I would just put all the rocks in there prior to trying to catch the fish. Minimizes the risk of the fish hurting themselves as they are fleeing from your net.

Yeah I have enough brute cans to fill with LR

Based on my experience, expect some of the fish to find their way into those Brute cans. Took me until the next day to locate and capture all the dartfish that left the tank hidden in the liverock . . .
