I didn't realize the shorter of two posts actually made it on the board. I have a new powder blue tang that I just introduced to my display tank. I don't have a quarantine tank so I'm wondering how best to treat ick while in a reef tank.

Those are really tiny spots, I think that's velvet. @melypr1985 @Humblefish

That could be either or even both ich and velvet. Powder blues have nearly no protection from either because their slime coat is so thin. To try to keep one without QT is like play russian roulette. There is NO way to cure either without QT. Anything you find that says "reef safe" is going to be -at best- an ich management tool and WILL NOT cure either ick or velvet. It's still in the tank and still can come back and kill your fish. Sadly, without QT and treatment this powder blue doesn't have a very good chance to make it. I'm sorry

They arn't close enough to show gill movement so I can't help you much with it. They look ok at the moment. If you don't want to treat them, then I wish you good luck with it. I hope you keep us posted on what happens.
