Ick

I did this for ten years. It was easier back in the day. Unfortunately, I tried multiple acanthurus tangs such as powder blue and achilles and they were unable to do the same. But yes some fish can handle ich. Velvet is the bigger worry, and unfortunately it’s just as common now :(
My pbt is thriving so idk.

I'd say most every healthy and well cared for fish can. Unfortunately on this site we only really read about all the ones that don't make it due to inexperienced ppl in the hobby, or another issue that caused the death bit the blame is inappropriately placed on ich.

By the way, my pbt(blue) with ich is still going strong

And I disagree. And your correct that your displays do not have ich, your fish do however.
If you care for me to prove it I can, just let me know.

Hello,

First off (professionally not saying your wrong etc) but would love for you to show me. I had a minor stress ick in my tank just a month ago. Only two fish showed signs and nothing has been added, all my fish where qt prior and have been in my tank for 19 months. I have not added any fish etc, I have added corals and snails etc.

I have literally read maybe 15 different reports that are listed in proven scientific journals. They have been reviewed by peers that are experts in their field and are approved. So I would love to know how fish always have ick. One paper has said there is no cure for ick, (I listed it in posts prior to this but not one had said fish always have it. Now with all the strains out there most of us still play catch up including scientific research teams. Again speaking professionally as person of science I would love for you to share your findings for other peers to simply review. Just don’t wanna sound like I’ll prove you wrong silly attitude. Like with @HotRocks (this time I am actually awake) but I can’t find anything in about 20 papers articles that explain this.

Sure, I'm interested to see the proof. So you know, it's ok to respectfully disagree.

You will make may day if you can prove it because I can move all of my quarantined fish to my fallow SPS system ;).

Everyone’s entitled to an opinion. There’s absolutely no evidence that all fish have ich, even though some fish may be asymptomatic carriers.
