Hello All,
Hoping for help here. Newish to this. Have my second batch of fish friends in their QT/Hospital tank. The first batch went successfully with no issues. My Orchid Dottyback has a spot today behind its eye. Is it too soon to tell if this fish has ich? Irregardless, I right away began dosing with Copper Power. 7ml to a 10gal system as to not rise levels too high too quickly. It is currently housed with a Bangai Cardinal both bought on July 6 from the same LFS. I am attaching pictures, sorry they're not of better quality. And just to think, my husband laughs because I spend over an hour a day staring at the new fish.

Not spots but it does look like a section is lighter. I'll try to get a video. He seems afraid of my phone when I pull it out.

Raised, yes. I can not tell if there is any cottony texture.

Cottony, fibrous, or cauliflower likely Lymphocystis and usually one spot but can spread. Common on the face and fins.
Salt like usually Ich and more than one.

Thanks much for being so helpful. Never thought of Lymph until last night late. The spot is still there but no more have shown.

That’s good to hear. Lymph is rarely a killer unless fish is old and / or in a weakened state to begin with. Give it some time, feed it good food and maintain your water quality and it will usually go away.
