So a few weeks ago, my sps corals suddenly stopped growing, stopped using up alkalinity, and closed up PE. I didn’t do anything drastic, just adjusted my alkalinity dosing down.
Sps eventually began to stn, losing two so far. No swings in alkalinity, or anything obvious, so I got worried and ordered an ATI test.
Got my results in today. A few things stuck out to me:
1- While my Hanna ULR phosphate meter showed I was around 0.10ppm phosphate, my ICP shows 0.22ppm.
2-Red Sea Pro alkalinity showed 7.8dkh, ICP shows 8.5dkh
3-ICP showed my iodine to be very high at 0.718ppm!
4-My 0TDS RODI showed some copper, but my tank water doesn’t show copper.
ATI only was concerned about phosphate and Iodine.
Could the cause of my troubles be the super high iodine?
Needless to say, I won’t be dosing iodine anymore
