And it did not. Oh well. So where do I go to get the following elements?
Strontium
iodine
Boron
bromine
Vanadium
manganese
nickel
Zinc

They told me the dosage I need I just need the elements. Thanks.

Ok so I was reading the recommended actions this is what it says:

You can buy all those from Triton labs. I believe BRS sells most of those

so after I do a 15% water change for me that would be 36 gallons. I had to stop the water changes for a while as I battled dinos. I won. i should be able to subtract 15% of all the values to get the correct dosage. So let's say I do a 15% water change tomorrow. Instead of dosing the 181.8, i should subtract 15% away from the original dosage since I am doing a 15% water change, or is this wrong?
The new dosage would be 154.53 mL instead of 181.80mL. Let me know. Thanks.

I spoke with Chad from BRs he said do a 25% water change and dose the strontium and Iodine.
Triton wants me to break the bank on thos trace elements. they cost upward of 32-45 bucks per element.

I would use Tropic Marin. I love this salt, mixes clear fast and doesn't leave a residue behind.

Also since you will be switching salts and doing water changes, I would hold off on the dosing.

Finish your water changes, then get another ICP test before you do anything else. Chances are that the new salt will have a different combination of these trace elements and dosing will be shooting in the dark.

This is true. I hate to leave Instant Ocean. I have been with them since day one. I watched the BRStv video on the salts and TPM did have the better results for dissolving.

Do you have issues with your coral? Before spending money fixing levels that might not need fixing, get another ICP to confirm the first measurements. ICP vendors do not guarantee accuracy nor provide you with proof that they can deliver accurate results.

I too started out with Instant Ocean. Then I switched to Red Sea Salt, then again I switched to Tropic Marin.

I started with Instant Ocean because it was cheaper and readily available at local pet shops. I gotta tell ya though, the higher price and shipping wait time with other salts is really worth it. You will really tell a difference with your water quality and live stock coloration.

Like I said earlier though, start with a quality salt and complete the water changes, then test again before you start dosing anything.

other than slow growth and not the greatest of color the ocaasional stn here and there nah.

I only used IO because it was cheap. I consider the reef tank like my body. If I have an iron deficiency then I know I would take vitamins. I figure since I am going to try the triton method I am going to do everything they say to do for a year to see where it goes. I want to see if this method really works. In my 150 build, I did things my way. Water change once a month dose alk here and there I was not on top of testing and once again growth from coral was sub-par but I would get growth. I kept the big three in line for the most part. I want to go beyond average. I want to look at this 270-gallon system and say wow this is immaculate. I look at it now and say its decent and I know I can do better. So this is why I am going Triton Method. That and I actually have a fuge lol.
I am refilling my 160 gallon Ro storage now and I will make 50 gallons of Tropic Pro Marine. I'll give it a year and see how it goes. Weekly water changes at 20% and I will do an ICP test every 4 months. Let's see where this goes. Not to mention I am still stocking my tank.

Well, I am about to do a 40-gallon water change using Tropic Pro Marine. Been mixing for 12 hours.
This is not a cheap salt. Let see if I can get the results I am looking for in a year.

I personally would not dose all of those,

Bromine is almost perfect. Why dose it?

I'm not convinced iodine and strontium are useful, but you can buy specific supplements for those if you want to experiment and see if theya re useful in your tank.

The trace elements on your list
bromine
Vanadium
manganese
nickel
Zinc

Are probably easiest to dose in a trace element mixture of which there are many brands.

@Randy Holmes-Farley I decided not to dose any of that. What I am doing now is just doing the water changes as they recommended. They recommend doing 15% every week but my water changes are 20% once I fill my brute. After 6 weeks of water changes, I will see where I am with another ICP test. I did however switch from Instant ocean to Tropic Pro Marin. What I found what just like the BRStv investigates after mixing for 12 hours it was more clearer than Instant ocean. The parameters are dead on where I like to keep mine. TPM is more expensive but time will tell if its worth it. I know with IO 0.5 cups per gallon will not get me 1.026 but TPM did so I was able to measure without adding extra salt to get 1.026

Water changes can correct major and minor ions like strontium, but generally won't maintain high demand trace elements such as manganese that can deplete very rapidly. That said, many folks have great tanks without dosing trace elements.

after 6 weeks of my 25 % water changes and another ICP test, I might be open to dosing some of the trace elements. Maybe we will see. I am excited to see where Triton can take my tank.
