Hi,

I just got my first ICP test results. I'm not sure what to make of some of these things. I find it reassuring that some of my test kits were on point. Should I be concerned with being low in Cobalt, Bromine, Molybdenum...etc. Are these even things that are found in commercial trace element bottles? Do any of these numbers ring any alarm bells with you gurus? Thank you.

Don’t be alarmed.
How often you change water and how much?
Share the salt you using.

The numbers claiming accuracy to 7 significant figures are quite alarming. They set off all sorts of "alarm bells" for me. That kind of stated accuracy is just not credible.

I am using reefcrystals. I do a 5% water change every week.

FWIW, I do not have confidence in this company, so before taking any substantial actions based on the values, I would confirm readings with another company.

That said, potassium seems pretty low.

Salinity may be high (are you measuring it)?

Hmmm... I am measuring salinity with a refractometer. I even use calibration solution as I heard you'll get better accuracy than using RO water for calibration. This tank measures is typically around 35 ppt so not sure why that's high.

I'll go ahead and submit a sample to another company. Which other testing companies would you recommend? I liked that these guys were so fast.

I have more confidence in ATI and Triton.

May be in the salt mix. perhaps, experiment with use of a different salt mix.

BTW. . . . . . I sent in my first ICP test last week. How long did it take you to get results?

Ok.....thank you both , so about 1-2 weeks for results.

Just got message from ICP. My sample (was my first) and others got lost by their shipper??? Just wonderful. Been over a month since sent
