Does anyone have any suggestions on getting these values in line. I guess I am confused on how I raise Sodium when my salinity is spot on at 1.025.

Also, I have Red Sea ABCD but not sure how I can raise my Iodine that much with that little bottle or Potassium. No clue at all on the Bromine....

Thoughts? My tank seems happy.

And totally confused on RODI test. I thought everything is supposed to be 0.

Ok. So, I just added 6ml Red Sea Iodine and 40ml Potassium. So, that should fix the Potassium and Iodine.

Any suggestions on Sodium without pushing past 1.026?

And how do I remove Bromine? Or, does it matter? It looks like it is building up from RODI but my RODI is 0 TDS so not sure why it is coming thru on my RODI. But according to ICP thereis 34.53 Br in my RODI. Anyone else experience this?

Your tank looks great. I believe that more than the results of the ICP. My only thought is your salinity is 33.59 ppt. I would bring that up to to 35. That will bring up your sodium proportionally. I think adding potassium was fine. I used to add iodine to my tank, but it never seemed to matter.

Will 35 put me higher than 1.026?

It depends on the temperature of your tank. Specific Gravity‘s relationship to parts per thousand of salinity is temperature dependent. I find this site has a good chart: https://www.algone.com/salinity-and-specific-gravity-guidelines-for-the-saltwater-and-reef-keeper

E.g If your tank is 78F (a common temperature for tanks) then 1.025 SG = 35.4 ppt.

My tank is spot on @78. I have an Arctica chiller that keeps it right there. That is why I am confused about these results.

As far as sodium goes, I believe all salts would impact this, like magnesium, calcium, and so on. I am guessing one or multiple of those is low. That is why you can be at 1.025 and still low sodium.

Not sure exactly when you sent your test in but I sent mine in on April 30th and received the results Tues, May 5th, well the first test. My numbers were the worst ever! It showed 0 Mg, 0 Ca, 0 K, and P was 0.03, which my tank P has never been, never this good. So I emailed them and advised that corals and fish are doing fine and I felt my test needed to be redone or I wanted a refund. I also tested everything I had kits for and again the numbers were more in line with what I usually get. The next day, ICP emailed me advising my test was ready. I opened up the test(this was the second test) which they had redone and sure enough the numbers were much better! My advice, if the numbers are really off DO NOT try to start correcting them to where they should be, if your corals look good, have ICP retest or you may over treat your tank! I think I will go back to using Tritton, I have heard and read about too many reefers getting crazy results back from ICP. They did me right by retesting, but this should not be something that continues to happen..

Who did you have do your ICP?

Not sure of your question, but I sent it to the address in the instructions. Is there a choice? If so, what is it? I was not aware of this. Thanks

ICP is not a company, it's a type of test. The type being, "Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry ". There are many who do it, ATI, Triton, and several others. So I was wondering who did your icp test?

Maybe Coralvue did yours? There's looks like this:

Wow! I had no idea! You are correct, its the Coralvue one. I am not happy with them at all. Crazy results.

My understanding is that Coralvue is not very accurate. I use triton, they were basically the pioneers of using icp for aquariums. And I have used theirs probably 5 or 6 times now. What I like to do is measure mag, alk, and cal, and phosphates and see how my measurements match up to theirs. Kind of gives you some checks and balance.

Well I will be switching to triton for sure. Thanks!

Mine was CoralVue as well. I have cancelled my subscription and order Triton from BRS
