ICP Test Results

Eh, Been fighting some GHA for months. Corals all open up and look happy, But never did really spread out much. Finally started checking nitrates and phosphates and realized my nitrates were always bottomed out. Could be because they are binded up in the GHA. So not really sure if that's the case or not. Mainly softies in the tank. Running under a 6 bulb T5.

Got a sump with a refugium? How old is the tank. I personally would just worry about getting nitrates and phosphates and gha in check before worrying about anything else you see on this ICP

Just moving up on the 1 year mark. Phosphate is slightly high, Nitrates im dosing to try and keep around 5. Seems counter intuitive with GHA but it was reading 0 and I still had it so i figured there shouldnt be much change. Been doing that for about a week, And theres been a slow of GHA growth if anything.

I would rip some out by hand whatever you can. If rocks only with no corals remove out the tank and scrub em thoroughly get as much off as u can. Are you feeding dry? Ive gotten phosphates pretty high using red sea ab+ or feeding dry food.

Couple elements showing as low, Wanted to get some opinions.
I'm not familiar with any test but ati but the silicon and p04 look high? I wouldn’t worry about this one test though.

I was going to say to dose nitrates, even with gha, but remove what you can, nutrients in algae is different than nutrients in the water column, I always dose to keep in low range and after time algae will go away, the amount of time is what changes .

DONT USE AB+ IT WILL SEND YOU DOWN A RABIT HOLE, WITH THE TANK IN THIS CONDITION.

Exactly no dry foods or ab+. I'd drop some gfo in a sump bring them po4 down

May I ask what you’re dosing? You’re over dosed on several elements, and low on others.

PO4 is high considering you have GHA that is likely making the true value read lower. I’d drop PO4 to .08 ppm.

I have Chaeto, And I do no dosing. Besides occasionally iodide. Water change weekly, Stopped doing that since I recently dosed Fluconazole to combat the GHA. Didn't know if a water change would dilute its affects. But before that, I was doing a 5 gallon water change a week. 40 gallon tank. Reef Crystals.

Can you use GFO in a sump without a reactor? I've been using phosguard since GFO seems to fine for the average mesh bag.
Typical GFO works best if thumbed in a reactor, otherwise it will probably "cake" and will have very little effect on lowering phosphates. There are some types of GFO, like RowaPhos, which are formulated differently and they CAN be used in a media bag or in a reactor.
