Icp testing- when to do it?

Considering icp test to try and figure out algae issues. When is the best time to test? Between water changes, right after one? Does it matter?

Take a sample and send it in. Don’t over think it. Your present water is causing issues you want to know why and how best to fix it. The test will help you figure that out.
