I have used for the last three icp test, icp analysis…thou they were fine i Wanted to see what everyone was using and why,,

I see reef labs out of Florida is doing them…

I have used ATI, ICP Analysis and Triton repeatedly. I have settled on Triton. Maybe not the most cost effective, but I only test every 3 months or so. They make the process easy and fast and have provided the most "consistent" results. By fast I mean 4-5 days from ship day.

ATI I liked due to the testing of RODI offered in the bundle. But since I went to a 7 stage RODI -- and finally know what I am doing to manage the RODI water quality -- I am fine without that information. ATI was very slow to report. IIRC, you send the sample to CA, then it gets bundled and shipped to Germany. Two weeks was common to wait for results.

I liked the price of ICP-Analysis, but there were threads around here, commented on by people I have come to respect, that raised quality questions, mainly related to calibration of these very sophisticated and sensitive machines. Also there were long periods where results were not being reported for weeks and weeks. This could be resolved by now, but it was an issue.

Good info and thanks..I saw that about ati with the turnaround…my fav lfs used to use triton but has since moved to reefmoonshiners..

I have used ICP analysis and Reef Labs. My level of confidence with ICP is lower though I have no data to support that. I do like the app with ICP analysis

How was reef labs?

They were fine. I had to request a new label on my first order since they had changed addresses. So that added a few days to get the results. I thought they should have sent new labels to all their stocking locations but I understand that would be a pain since the label is tied to the test kit number. My plan is to just submit a test every quarter.

I like ICP, they test 61 elements, where as Reef Labs only test 36 elements, Fauna Marin 37. I don't know which is better but I like the fact ICP tests more elements, I don't know if they are all actually needed. I need to do more research.

Good information, I use ATI ICP primarily because im using ati essentials. I been pretty happy with the results as i see the improvements in my reef. However..... i agree completely with the time....the last ICP test sent was on 12/13/22 i received the results back on 1/04/23. I do love how they display the results.... but the time is a bit long in the tooth.

I just tried my first ICP Analysis test today. It seems odd that I am on their website but am redirected to a different site to start the registration for the test. Then I cannot enter the test code on the label but must download an app to scan the QR code. They find the water sample bottle get sent with not identification besides the plastic ziplock that has the label with the printed code on it. So far, I am not impressed. It seems like the process was designed by three different people. This has me further concerned about the methods they use for testing the water. I am other ICP tests today with the ICP Analysis test. It should be interesting to compare the results.
