I came home from work today to find my Maroon clown, 9 yrs old, has a cloudy left eye - only upper half - almost like he has glaucoma. No other signs of distress other than he is hiding in his "sleeping spot" in the back instead of swimming all over the tank. I have 2 neon gobies, a lemon peel angel, orange spotted goby, and a royal gramma. All of these fish are ok, no signs of distress, lesions etc. The snails, hermits, sea cucumber, and cleaner shrimp all seem ok as well. My xenia are doing well too. Nitrates at 5ppm (granted the algae is consuming it all probably), ph 8.1, temp 27. So the question is what could this be.

Second is that while looking at my fish I noticed a small white worm go wiggling by. I caught it but lost it in the netting when I took it out and can't seem to find it. But it was 3-4mm long, and moved through the water in a cork-screw wiggling fashion. I don't see any others, but if there is one, there must be more right?
In the 9 years I have had this tank I have never had any form of disease or worms. So any help would be appreciated. I know you don't have a lot to go with, but here's hoping there are some good detectives on here.

Horrible topic for my first thread as a new member here, but here's hoping :-)

Thanks for the quick reply and the link! I can't seem to ID it from that link, but my wife just "admitted" to an "accidental" increase in feeding regimen, so water change time it is.

Well, Bristle Worms are the most common in our tanks, so I'd look at those first, see what you think.
Water change can never hurt, always a good thing.

thanks again guys, the eye seems better and the behaviour is back to normal as well. I agree it is probably a type of bristle worm. With the extra feeding the tank got there may have been a nice bloom of them.
