Hi guys my name is Carlos, I'm new to the saltwater world... Been cycling my tank for about a month
And been noticing a few worms.. ... Bristle worms... Bristle stars.. Snails...White star fish and a few
More creatures... Like teddy bear crab that I just caught and put in my sump!! Another crab that I can't identify..
a lot of tiny lil white things swimming or running on my glass... I think they might be copepods.

I'm going to attach 2 pics... Please let me know if these will cause any problems to my tank?
Also does anyone here know about the OR led lights? Are they good?

120g
30g sump
Sal 1.023 ... 78*F
PH 8.0
Amonia/nitrate 0
Phosphate 0.25
Calcium 520
Carbonate 16 dkh

Sry I didn't specify and it might be hard to see... The 1st pic there is a red and black worm in the white rock... When I
Saw it up close it looks like there is a bunch of little hairs or spikes on the sides of the worm... Any advice wii be greatly
Appreciated... Thanks

1st would be bristel worm, if you can remove it fine if not fine. They help to eat unused food.
2nd pic is an astrea star REMOVE this and continue to look for them and remove them too.
They may or may not devour your zoas but why take the risk.
Hope this helps!

Holy crap... I have a ton of those that came on a very porous live rock.... I guess I'm going to have fun removing them... Lol
Thanks for the info and your help!

lol
I always hunt for them and set them on top of the lights to cook...:bounce:

I've had Asterina starfish in every tank I've had so far and they've never caused any problems, and I've had softies, LPS and now SPS. Maybe I'm just lucky.

There are many many many different types of em, i just dont take that chance ;-)

If there are a lot of them look into a Harlequin shrimp. They're have a veracious love for starfish!

I've had the white ones in my tank for 4yrs. NEVER an issue of any kind. Definitely nothing to pose a threat to any of my corals, including Zoa's. The worst I've seen the white ones do is eat the coralline off my rock. No biggy as it grows back just as fast. They are great algae eaters, especially the film algae that grows mainly on the tank walls :)

+1^. I've got them all over my tank, I leave em alone.

Thanks for all the info guys... Steve That sounds like a good idea... But what can I feed the shrimp once he's done w the starfish?

That's the only issue my friend! If you want to keep the shrimp...sacrifices will have to be made!!!Buy a cheap star and cut a leg off at a time to feed them

@ Steve.... **** that sucks!! Lol.... I guess I'm going to look into another kind of shrimp for now.
Ill keep an eye on them and see what happens ..... Thanks for your help....@ spspirate thanks for
The greet. Too all the others here @ r2r thank you for your replies and your input.
