ID anyone?

There are 2 critters in the photo below, I circled each in yellow. They both have 2 antenna, which are dashed or striped. The smaller one you can actually see the “V” shape of the 2 antenna better.

I almost forgot, they are on the shell of a turbo snail I have in QT.

Do they move from the pictured spots at all? Or stay there all the time

I’m not sure. They are always in the same general areas on the 2 turbos I have, and I haven’t seen them on any rock or other snails... yet. LOL

I put some superglue on them several weeks ago, and thought they were gone. So they either moved or new ones popped up. Also, they retract if I touch them.

I also used Prazi in that QT tank, and they survived that as well.

Yeah, they do. But they can’t be mini stars with only 2 “arms”, can they? Plus I can’t see a central disk, but they’re soooo small it’d be hard to see.

I’ve seen them cram into the smallest crevice and just stick out an arm or two, to catch a snack.

The op hitchhiker has segmented legs not smooth body like spoinid worms. Most def micro brittle stars.

I would LOVE it if they are mini stars; however, wouldn’t I see some on the rock as well? Also,
wouldn’t I occasionally see 1 leg or 3 legs? It’s always 2 legs (or 2 antennas/feelers).

I don’t see the hard “tube” that I would expect to see if it was a spoinid. Can their “tubes” be to small to see (i.e., in a crack in a turbo snail’s shell)?

detritivorous spionid worm. It secretes a mucous to build a small tube with sand grains (two tubes are visible in your image), and extends two palps for feeding
I dont allow them in my tank and break off at the base as you would with vermetid snails

I can’t see the tubes is why I tried to epoxy them, but they “came back”. Is epoxy another way to get rid of them, and perhaps these are new ones?

I guess I could just get some more turbos, they are in QT after all for a reason.

If they are indeed detritivorous spionid worms, would flatworm exit kill them?
