I think I have some chrysophytes/golden algae popping up

could this be a result of low nutrients or do you think this is hiding my nutrient readings?

Looks very similar. Are you dosing any carbons or running media to lower phos.

Running carbon in reactor. phosphates have been 0 and trying to increase with more feeding but now wondering if this is eating them up. Or if this is a result of low nutrients also getting 0 growth in algae scrubber

Turn off the reactor and put your skimmer on a timer. Test in again in a couple days and see if that makes a difference.
Do you have a lot of corals or fish?

Yeah to both in my opinion but most would say I don’t have many fish lol. 4 fish total in the tank Reefer 250 coral frags have at least 30ish

Why do you think they are chrysophytes/golden algae? I personally know very little about them.

I am not positive that is what it is. I only think that because it doesn’t look like anything else. Not sure :(

Do a Google search you will find a thread here and one on RC. Chuck's addiction used to have a section as did 3Reef but I can not find those. A UV might assist in the battle.

light color. strongly gelatinous blobs.

looks to my eye like chrysophytes more likely than dinos. really need microscope to say for sure.
