I just got back from a trip and noticed this sore immediately on my clown. I was only gone three days, and it was not there when I left. Is it possible that it's just a wound or is it something worse?

What tankmates? Any tangs?

Looks like a wound to me, probably some aggression with other fish.

I've had her for 10 months, I haven't seen any aggression towards or from her (with the exception of her nudging my cleaner shrimp around when he gets to close), and tankmates are another clown, coral beauty, banggai cardinal, leopard wrasse, and a pistol shrimp in a 75 gallon tank.

I would assume wound (for now) and food soak vitamins to boost her immune system.
Thank you. I didn't want to without getting a second opinion and have it turn in to something bad that could've been fixed.

I appreciate everyone's time!

My clowns host a frogspawn, and I have those "pointy worms" (sorry for the uber technical terms) that encrust on everything. Every once in awhile one of the clowns would end up with a wound from (what I assume was) running into some sharp objects in the interior branches of the frogspawn. They always healed fine.

I have vermetids (pointy worms :)) everywhere. Definitely thinking it was just an owie. It's all but healed today.
