I saw this at Petco today while on my lunch. I know I've seen these, but it's been years. What is it?

Neoglyphidodon bonang is the closest thing I could find, though googling it brings up multiple different types of damsels. It's also called an ocellated damsel.
 
Different, that's for sure than the ones that are often for sale

I agree, they lose that coloring as they mature and turn into an ugly darg grey fish. They are also quite mean.

Reminds me of domino damsels. Fun and cute as juveniles, then they grow up into huge drab grey monsters.
