i bought this fish as a algea eating blenny and it arrived from sri lanka
any ideas what it could be? reef safe?

I´m not sure but I know that this fish has been exported from Sri Lanka as weed Blenny - Springeratus xanthosoma

I agree with Lasse's id. They are a super cool fish. Very personable, and once settled, pretty fearless. They believe their camoflage is so good they will come right up to your hand when doing maintenance. They are very nosy and have to know what is going on. Completely reef safe. One of my favorite fish and I highly recommend them to almost anyone.
