So I have the white substance growing on my LR. It may be hard to distinguish it from the rock itself, but in it pic it is over the green in crusting algae. Looking at it in person the best way to dice one it is "it looks like a bird crapped on my rocks" please help id.

If its old Live Rock, it looks as if its the dead and old coralline growth.
 
It's brand new growth that over the past few days appeared on rock that I cured (dry before). Also the patches of red and purple started showing about the same time. My lfs says it's a type of coraline?

Just to give an idea of growth rate. This is a shot from yesterday.

Now it hasn't spread that much on the other pieces, in fact it hasn't noticeably spread at all on the other pieces.
