Hey got this gongorian here, wondering what kind it is photosynthetic or non photosynthetic, been doing well and I put out reef roids for it just in case its non photosynthetic but thought its better to know for sure.

do you know where it came from? carribean gorgs are usually photosynthetic and have smaller polyps, while those hailing from the indo-pacific are more colorful, have larger polyps, and are often non-photosynthetic. at first glance it looks more like the latter to me, but a better close-up is probably necessary for a better id. gorgonians benefit from somebfeeding even if they are photosynthetic imo.

Dont know where its from, but ill take a better pic tomorrow
 
Looks like a purple rod; photosynthetic. Nice specimen, btw
