I got this colony a couple years ago and it was about a quarter the size it is here. It was sold to me as a Favia for $30 at the LFS and I didn't doubt it then since it was a solid purple and wasn't very puffy so the polyps looked separate. However, now I think it is an acan echinata - it has gotten a TON of color over the past couple years, has puffed way up, and all the new polyps look attached. It went from solid purple to purple, green, orange, yellow, and blue. Right now it is a little beat up from 950 miles in a truck 2 weeks ago and it hosts my clowns - but it's still pretty healthy.
