I have a scoly that has done amazingly well in my tank for several months, then all of a sudden a few weeks back I notice the surface began to look abraded. I moved it to different spots trying to find the right light/flow combo to make it happy again.

Two weeks ago I noticed what I thought was a tiny pineapple sponge on the base but now I'm wondering if it may be a tunicate? Please see pic below. Also, a pic of my scoly before it started the slow descent of death...any advice on recovery strategies would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

Could any of ur fish be picking at it? Other scolys in ur tank doing well? My bannerfish started picking at my coral because I wasn’t feeding as much.
