The polyps are a dark brownish redish color with neon green mouths. Your expertise and time is greatly appreciated.

They will probably morph into Red People Eaters under the right light.

Thx Hypertek, when you say under the right light, what would that be? I currently have them under an Outer Extreme 560 W light. Dual 150 W MH's and dual 130 W PC's (all factory bulbs).

How deep are they? Unfortunately 150w MH's aren't too powerfull. I had mine under 2x250watt MH and 4x54watts of T5's and they were about 15" below the light.

Your lighting is good, don't get me wrong, but for zoas to change colors in this case the lighting will need to either be more powerful or you'll need to raise them up in your tank.

I have my True RPE's under 250MH and it stays red. But if you don't have the True RPE's they turn brown like the one above. Give it some time it will take more time to turn red then it would to brown out.

Gotcha. They're approximately 18" from the light. Not completely on the bottom of the tank, but on the base of the LR. I'll move them up, and closer to being directly under the MH's . You know the lamp positions on a dual 48" I'm sure. They're centered in the tank right now and the lights are each about 1/3 of the way in from the ends. Thanks again for your time and info....much appreciated. I'll post a follow-up if/when they morph into a deeper color.

Wait how big is your tank??? My tank is a 29gal so the 250Mh is pretty bright. And i have it in the middle of the tank on the sandbed.

It's a 72 Bow front, 48" W. I'm out of town on business right now so I haven't moved them.

Theres a few different morphs of RPE's. The ones you have don't appear to be true RPE's but one of the other RPE morphs. I have a colony that looked exactly like that when I first got them. They have since changed to an orange/pink color. They're actually one of my favorites in my tank. Here's a recent pic...
