ID Help - Purple sponge?

hi everyone, I noticed in my 28 gallon JBJ that I have a purple sponge with arms growing on the side of my rocks. Does anyone know what this is? Is it harmful to my tank?

Not at all.
Sponges are in majority good as they are filter feeders.
If they get out of control just snap some off and move it to you fuge or make another hobbyist happy.
Purple is Pretty.

Yeah I think that's a super cool looking sponge. I don't know why people don't frag their cool sponges and sell them.
