ID help with white growth on Macroalgae

So I’ve been looking and can’t seem to find an answer for what this is. I’m hoping you guys can tell me. It’s white and growing(?) mostly around the stalks on the red algae and seems to like the folds and creases on the lettuce algae. It doesn’t come off easily, it’s attached well!

Looks a bit like hypnea, but not 100% sure. We haven't seen that before.
 
Yes, I agree it does look very much like it. Is there an all white Hypnea? I know it’s hard to see in the picture, but these are all white. Same sort of white as on a pineapple sponge.

I’ve had a few other people suggest it to be sponge. It doesn’t feel ‘sponge’ like, it feels more like a tiny plant. It’s hard to get that close of a pic to help explain. There has been considerable growth in the last few weeks, not that each piece is getting bigger, simply more of it.
 
Reminds me of a branching coralline is it hard or soft?
