What is this growing on my Zoa frag plug?

Bubble algae. Remove it but do not pop it (just sorta lift it off from underneath)

It may or may not allow them to spread more. I forget if I actually found a paper on it or not because I haven't looked it up in years but say it out of caution.

I posted many resources verifying that popping them does not make them spread.
